Cartesian Chair by Alex Purcell Rodrigues

Representative of its collection, the Cartesian Chair allows geometry to sit upon the throne of aesthetics. Designer Alex Purcell Rodrigues turns to a new method of aluminum fabrication to bring the sharp folds to the chair’s spindly supports, its entirety cut and folded from the anodized material. The facets of the design allow the aluminum to speak for itself and eliminate the presence of unnecessary ornamentation. With the manufacturing expertise of Neal Feay, the duo delivers these stackable chairs that are optimized to reduce waste material and wasted time in the construction process. For those who are lesser fans of the off-the-press look, a version incorporating walnut and oak is also available.
