Introducing Combekk

The comeback of the Dutch sand-casting iron pots in their country of origin.

Back in the 17th-century, the Dutch invented a technique that would transform cooking forever. The method of pouring iron in a sand mold originates in the Netherlands and has led to the creation of the popular cast iron pot and pans. Known as a “Dutch oven”, these sand-cast iron pans became famous across the globe, but local manufacturing stopped somewhere in the ‘70s. Now, Combekk is bringing the original technique back to life, in the country of its origins. The brand’s Dutch oven temperature pot and pans provide a bridge between tradition and modernity. One side features tried and tested manufacturing techniques, while the other includes eco-friendly materials and a perfected design that enhances functionality further.

Combekk is currently the only company in the Netherlands that makes its products in the country. The brand uses traditional techniques but with modern improvements. For example, the materials are 100% recycled, as iron doesn’t lose its properties or quality over time. As a result, Combekk can make premium Dutch oven temperature pots and pans to the highest standard of craftsmanship. The company uses a range of sources for its iron, including from old railroad tracks. By designing pots with extra-thick walls and a 6mm-thick bottom, Combekk ensures that the products retain and distribute heat evenly while cooking.

Every product features a hand-sprayed enamel layer which not only gives iron a smooth surface but also prevents chipping. The built-in thermometer allows the user to check the Dutch oven temperature without opening the lid. Thus, the cooking cycle remains uninterrupted and ensures perfect results. The lid also features studs on the interior to improve condensation and allow moisture to drip inside the pot. A must-have for any kitchen, these Dutch ovens are ideal for a wide range of uses, from boiling, steaming, and stewing to frying, baking, and even smoking. Regardless of use, the thermometer provides complete control over the cooking process.

The pots are also suitable to use alongside any heat source, including induction, inside an oven, or over a campfire. Finally, the 40-year warranty showcases the high-quality of these Dutch oven temperature pots, ensuring that they’ll last for generations. Apart from the cast iron products, the company offers a range of leather and wood accessories. Like the pots and pans, they display Dutch craftsmanship at its finest.
