David Irwin

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom

Designer David Irwin was born in 1986 in Northern Ireland. In 2007, he graduated with a degree in Three Dimensional Design from the Northumbria University. Three years later, he completed a fellowship as part of the Designers in Residence program at Norhumbria’s School of Design. He established his eponymous design studio in 2011. Working with well-known brands like Habitat, Deadgood, and Juniper, David Irwin designs furniture, lighting and products that are as elegantly simple and practical as they are creative. Examples include a Case Furniture folding wooden chair that can be displayed as a decorative piece on a wall or a Deadgood sofa that blends soft curves with a structured back support system. Throughout his work, David Irwin marries function with bold concepts to create minimalist designs that are timeless and distinctive at the same time.
