Behind the Design: Federico Peri
Milano, Italy
Industrial Design
Italian interior and product designer Federico Peri completed his studies at IED Milan in 2007. Afterwards, he won a scholarship in Paris and worked with other Milan-based practices before establishing his eponymous studio. The Federico Peri design practice has a portfolio that includes a wide array pf projects, from retail concepts and commercial interiors to furniture. Regardless of their typology and their aesthetic-focused design, all of the studio’s projects are deeply connected with function and with their individual context. For his minimalist furniture and lighting, the designer uses a carefully selected range of materials, including brass and leather as well as stone and wood. Aged surfaces and traditionally crafted elements also appear throughout the studio’s work. As a result, the products or interiors feature a blend of industrial design and textural richness along with refined sartorial influences.
