Born in 1987 in Dijon, France, Ferréol Babin studied Space Design at ENSA Dijon. After his graduation, he moved to Japan to study architecture at the Nagoya University of Art & Design. Realizing that he wanted to pursue a career in product design, he worked as an intern at Studio Robert Stadler in Paris before completing a degree in Product Design at ESAD de Reims. A one-year residency at the iconic Fabrica in Treviso, Italy followed. Ferréol Babin collaborates with furniture and lighting brands to design functional products that have a minimalist aesthetic as well as a poetic dimension. Apart from his work with other companies, the designer also creates his own designs that blur the line between product design and art. Throughout his work, Ferréol Babin uses a mix of mediums, from painting to sculpture and handcrafting.
