Richard Barnes is an architectural and editorial photographer based in New York. His work spans a broad spectrum, with a portfolio that includes award-winning photographs depicting the cabin of Ted Kaczynski, beautifully framed residential interiors, as well as more personal – and artistic – images. In the latter category, one can find captivating photographs of a glass house enveloped in fog or a mesmerizing series – featured in The New Yorker – of flocks of birds captured in flight above Rome in almost abstract compositions. The photographer’s work appears in numerous private and public collections, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Whitney Museum of American Art, or the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, to name a few. ‘Animal Logic’, a monograph of Barnes’ work, was published in 2009.
