Sean Godsell

Sean Godsell was born in Melbourne in 1960. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1984, he traveled the world before moving to London to work for Sir Denys Lasdun. Back in Melbourne, he established his own practice in 1994, Godsell Associates Pty Ltd Architects. Inspired by regional and Asian architecture, Sean Godsell designs houses that are as imaginative as they are innovative. The architect often explores the fluidity of the classic veranda in his work, resulting in living spaces that put sheltered outdoor areas at the heart of the home. He has also designed commercial and educational spaces as well as cultural buildings. Sean Godsell’s work has been published in leading architectural publications and has received many prestigious awards, including a Papal Silver Medal, the AIA Record Houses Award for Excellence, the RAIA Victorian Medal, and AIA National Architecture Awards.
