New York Dream By Xavier Dumoulin

Xavier Dumoulin is a contemporary French photographer who lives in Pau in the south of France. His photographic work is primarily concerned with the present environmental issues and reveals, albeit very poetically, a rising dichotomy between man and his environment. Light pollution, globalisation, climatic change, Xavier Dumoulin's photographs perfectly depict the Anthropocene, the current era in which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment. The presence of man has become overbearing and even parasitic, nature has been unquestionably transformed. This is what Xavier Dumoulin reminds us. Beyond a tragic observation, his photographs invite us not to forget and discredit the world around us and all it has yet to offer : like starry nights or landscapes most of which have been transformed but which are still striking. Since 2011 Xavier Dumoulin has produced 3 photo series : « Limites », « Incandescences » and « Passager de la Nuit ». His work is regularly exhibited in Paris. Xavier Dumoulin has also received several awards for his photography : the series «Limites» saw him a finalist in Bourse du Talent 2016, acquire the Jury's prize at Hiiibrand Photography (China) in 2013, obtain the Fubiz prize and laureate at Photocollection in 2012 and receive a merit at « Urban Photography » in Paris 2011.
