Deriva Glass Collection by Cristina Celestino

While fishing is hardly the most refined of hobbies, Italian designer Cristina Celestino of Design Attico has conceived from its wares the Deriva Glass Collection. Abstracting the iconic look of the split-color fishing bobber, Celestino constructs beautiful glass counterparts that float carefree in a surrounding environment of borosilicate glass. The amber, sage, and mustard hues are a strong yet tasteful alternative to the cartoonish red and white bobber, and the different forms within the glass collection offer variety in elegance. True to its inspiration, the sculptural pieces can be used as aquariums – with the colored “bobbers” suspended appropriately over the waterline – or simply as decorative vases. Though your fish may not take the bait, you will surely fall for this playfully innovative design!
