Xetum Watches, Kendrick Collection

Back in 2009, Jeff Kuo launched Xetum watches. Inspired by the aviation instruments and modernist architecture, the watches became popular, and are now immediately recognizable for their fresh, contemporary look, unadorned cases and simple dials which combine Californian design with Swiss craftsmanship.
Just recently, Xetum introduced the Kendrick Collection, inspired by the sun and sea. The watch is midsized at 40mm, water resistant up to 100 meters, comes in three colors and a range of straps, from NATO nylon to rugged rubber. Adding bright colors is also a new look for this collection. However, it’s small details of the model that are most important to the designer. “The part that intrigues me is the selection of the proportions,” says Kuo. “It’s getting the proportions of everything right. There’s a lot of trial and error in getting it balanced, getting the spacing of the dots, the hash marks, the relative width of the hands.”
