Alex Moling

La Valle, Italy

Born and raised in Alta Badia, Alex Moling photographs the Dolomites the way locals hike them—at first light, in all weathers, and always with an eye on the next ridge. For more than a decade he has worked throughout South Tyrol and beyond, specialising in tourism, hotel, and alpine-sport imagery that trades staged perfection for genuine, in-between moments: a chef wiping flour from a counter, cyclists coasting after a climb, mist lifting off larch tops.

A certified ENAC drone pilot as happy in the air as on foot, Moling blends sweeping aerials with close handheld studies to give clients a full sense of place. Luxury resorts, mountain guides, and regional tourism boards call on him to tell their stories, trusting his ability to fold architecture, landscape, and human rhythm into a single, readable series.

Away from commercial shoots he returns to long-form personal projects on Ladin culture and high-altitude ecosystems, convinced that the best pictures start with curiosity rather than a mood board. Whether hanging from a heli-door at sunrise or waiting out afternoon cloud on a ridge, Moling’s goal stays constant: catch the real life of the mountains and the people who move through them.
