Andy Martin

London, United Kingdom

Andy Martin Architecture is a London-based studio known for turning bold ideas into inviting places to eat, shop, and live. Founded in 2000 by Australian-born architect Andy Martin after early stints with Marc Newson in Paris, the practice blends architecture, interiors, and product design under one roof, so concept and detail evolve together.

AMA first drew attention with restaurant landmarks such as Mash and Isola, and has since shaped many of the capital’s dining destinations, including Barrafina, Chotto Matte, Quo Vadis, and Fucina. Close partnerships with hospitality entrepreneurs—Kurt Zdesar, Sam and Eddie Hart, Oliver Peyton, Chris Corbin, and Jeremy King—have honed the studio’s flair for atmosphere, flow, and operational logic.

The same curiosity drives its residential work. Projects like Perf House in Pimlico, winner of an Architecture MasterPrize, and a series of re-imagined mews houses show AMA’s talent for marrying London’s historic fabric with daylight, craft, and contemporary comfort. Retail interiors for Savile Row tailor Richard James and other fashion brands add another layer to a portfolio that spans Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. Whether designing a five-storey townhouse or a 200-seat brasserie, AMA starts with the user’s journey, then refines material, light, and detail until the spaces feel both effortless and memorable.
