Architecture Research Office (ARO) is a New York City-based practice led by Stephen Cassell, Kim Yao, and Adam Yarinsky. Established in 1993, the architecture firm has completed numerous projects that range from educational and cultural to commercial and residential spaces. Concepts of curiosity, resilience, sustainability and equity influence the studio’s work, along with extensive research. ARO has received over one hundred architecture and design awards, including the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Architecture, the AIA New York State Firm of the Year Award, and the Firm Award by the American Institute of Architects.
