Inches Geleta Architetti is a Swiss architecture studio based in Locarno, led by Matteo Inches and Nastasja Inches-Geleta. Partners since 2017, they bring together backgrounds in architecture and interior architecture. Their work begins with the character of a place, considering its landscape, surrounding buildings, and the ways people inhabit it. Homes, schools, and cultural spaces reflect this attention to context, with structure and materials helping each project relate to its setting.
At the MeCrì Museum pavilion in Minusio, washed concrete and a roof clad in local gneiss echo the old town’s stone walls and roofs. In Lugano, their Viganello elementary school extension adds a light steel structure above a 1970s building, taking its cues from the existing facade’s proportions and color. The project received a best architects 25 Gold Award.
The Gessato Directory features the best designers, architects, and creatives from around the world, searchable by name, city, and specialization.
