Easy Chair by Rasmus Warberg

Easy Chair, designed and handcrafted by Rasmus Warberg, is not only “easy” in its construction but also its concept. The red seat is tilted back ever so slightly, allowing the sitter to recline comfortably in reassuring relaxation. A single cord at the bottom of the chair stabilizes the entire structure, and Warberg does not bother to dress up this element or hide it from plain sight. Classic joinery techniques yield a square frame that becomes both the armrest and the legs of the chair. The sculptural quality of the upper edge of this frame features a slight depression and change in orientation that transforms the purely functional quality of the armrest into an aesthetic one. Simple, modern, easy.
