An Eco-stylish Retreat Concept

Glamping in Quebec for both nature and design lovers.

Designed by Bourgeois / Lechasseur architects, Dômes Charlevoix provides a new take on the classic ‘retreat in the middle of nature’ concept. The complex of three structures makes a strong impression, even at a glance. Geodesic domes in a light gray hue stand out among tall trees and vegetation. Dômes Charlevoix is located in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, near Le Massif de Charlevoix, Quebec. The site offers access to nearby ski slopes and to Quebec City, but guests may find it hard to leave the comfort of their dome. Immersed into nature, the retreat aims to connect travelers to the gorgeous landscape and provide a once-in-a-lifetime indoor/outdoor living experience. Glamping in Quebec at its finest.

The first three of a larger tourist project, the canvas domes rise from a mountain side, blending into the woodland. Visitors can access the structures though a path among the trees that leads them from the parking lot deeper into the woods. Each dome sits on a wooden deck area, offering stunning views of the St. Lawrence River to the south. A spa overlooks the trees and the landscape beyond to provide the ultimate relaxation experience. Stepping inside, guests find a beautifully designed space that maximizes both style and comfort.

The concrete floor looks modern and fresh, but it also helps to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the dome. A fireplace enhances warmth, while the full kitchen unit brings ‘home’ to mind. All domes can accommodate up to four people. Apart from the main bed, each dome has a second bed in the mezzanine area which offers views over the tree tops. Ultimately, Dômes Charlevoix aims to offer an eclectic retreat experience where guests can live in harmony with nature, in complete comfort. Photographs© Maxime Valsan. Via v2com.
