Based in Andorra, Commencal specializes in mountain bikes, enduro bikes, trail bikes, and e-bikes. The company has grown significantly since 2000, and now has headquarters in the USA, Australia, and New Zealand. One of their latest designs aims to bring the thrill of mountain biking to city streets. Named FCB (Fast City Bike), this bike is as versatile as it is stylish. It can make both the daily commuting or urban cycling more fun. At the same time, it provides the perfect solution to explore off-road trails during the weekend.
FCB has a 6061 T6 aluminum frame and narrow 640mm handlebars that allow the user to ride through tighter areas. The hydraulic disc brakes bring peace of mind that the bike will stop instantly when needed, while the SRAM Apex 11-speed transmission provides a range of cycling possibilities. Made with WTB Venture tubeless ready 50mm tires, FCB offers excellent grip as well as riding comfort on a range of surfaces, from smooth concrete to gravel. The bike weighs 24 lbs and comes with a chainstay protector, Fabric Scoop Flat Sport saddle, and a Heritage Green paint finish that references its off-road capabilities. Available from October 2020 in four sizes, the Commencal FCB bike costs $1,099. Photographs© Commencal.
