Foldable Tension Stool by Dmitry Kirgizov

New from the industrial designer Dmitry Kirgizov, the Tension Stool is a folding design with a curved seat and three legs. Crafted from white oak wood and naturally finished, the stool has an unassuming appearance. Yet, the central mechanism allows each leg to fold down, transforming the stool into a nearly-flat item that can be stowed away or hung on the wall. The idea brings to mind the Axel Stool by the Italian studio MID, though Kirgizov’s design distinguishes itself with a far more muted aesthetic. The minimalist look of the Tension Stool emphasizes its utility and particular aptitude in the realm of small-space living.
