The Gabbia Lamps were collaboratively envisioned by the Portuguese designer Rui Pereira and the Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada, the same team behind this cork backpack, the Bug Collection for the bathroom, the Faro mini fireplace, and the Furniture Tasting mold. The recent lighting design was handcrafted in Kyoto by a studio that typically works only with bamboo. For the Gabbia Lamps, however, the atelier was called to interweave bamboo and coloured acetate, creating colorful, textured shapes with folk-art appeal. Now available at industry+, the resulting designs comes in “inverted basket” shapes for ceiling and table, and are intended for use with LEDs.
