Gerald Paper Dog Project by Lazerian

Despite the humble origins of the project as a rebranding of Lazerian, a British design studio, Gerald Paper Dog Project has grown to reach over 105 collaborators around the globe. At the center of all this creativity is the freestanding Gerald, a folded and assembled construction resembling its real Bracco Italiano counterpart. Instead of the 320 bones to be found in a dog’s skeleton, 88 pieces of paper form Gerald’s body. Duplicates of the figure, but each born with its own personality and colorful coat, roam freely as designers render their interpretations on the paper surface. While a textile specialist gave her dog a warm, hand-sewn felt skin, other variations flaunt a field of strawberries as pattern or even a contemporary black, white, and red mosaic of color. All siblings and cousins of Gerald are to be displayed during New York Design Week – a true reunion indeed!
