On the bank of the Geul River in South Limburg, the Netherlands a prefab home manufactured in Amsterdam was built with environmentally sustaining practices. The structure hovers over the ground upon stilts of trees harvested close by. Waste water is  conserved by being filtered, purified then redeposited into the river.  Solar heat works in cooperation with the generous supply of windows exposing the sun to penetrate the small space inside. Conveniently, the Japanese Shou-Sugi-Ban siding technique to burn the cedar surface leaves the wood practically maintenance free. Charming stick built porch rungs and darling turned front side deems this home a welcoming abode. Created by the teams at Upfrnt, WHD Interieurbouw and Zwarthout.

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
