Golf Course Screen Print Series by Jerome Daksiewicz

“Golf art is awful. Do a quick internet search and you’ll see what I mean.” Well, I was intrigued by this challenge put forth by Jerome Daksiewicz of NOMO. Indeed, the mash-up of works – some cliché and photographic, others lackluster in portrayal – leaves much to be desired in terms of creativity. Daksiewicz’s Golf Course Screen Print Series ups the ante by depicting an abstracted representation of the hosts of the 2013 Major Championships, Muirfield (British Open) and Merion Golf Club (U.S. Open) among the choices. Each print, produced as a four-color serigraph on a steel blue background, captures the topographic character of the course with a fun, graphical style. The series reads as an infographic, providing key information that documents the courses with an artistic flair. On the project’s Kickstarter page, there is even an option to order a custom course print: perfect for the ultimate golf enthusiast!
