The GT02 Lamp

A creative lighting design reminiscent of origami.

San Francisco-based architecture and design studio Garcia Tamjidi creates strikingly minimalist spaces. Whether residential or commercial, the firm’s project always feature ultra-clean lines, an abundance of severe right angles and complementing round volumes, airy spaces that bring together light and rich textures along with smooth surfaces. The GT02 Lamp would feel at home in any of these interiors. It features a creative design that draws inspiration from origami to explore the dialogue between line, plane, and light. Similarly to the studio’s architectural and interior design projects, the lamp stuns with its clean aesthetic.

To create the sculptural lamp, the designers used a fiber optic laser to cut a sheet of aluminum and then folded the material. The LED bulb remains hidden inside the metal volume. By shining the light on an angled plane at the base, the lamp illuminates with a soft and warm glow. It not only creates a cozy atmosphere in a room, but also contrasts the bold design with a touch of subtlety. The GT02 Lamp boasts a satin anodized finish that softens the light further.
