The Halley Helmet Rack

A cleverly simple and minimalist design.

Created with function and good design in mind, the Halley Helmet Rack offers a practical and stylish solution to both store and proudly display motorcycle helmets. The ingenious design is the brainchild of Marc Graells, an industrial designer who founded Halley Accessories in Barcelona in 2017. Similarly to many innovative designs, the concept of the helmet hanger took shape as an answer to a common problem. In this case, a problem shared by motorcycle and bike riders worldwide. “I was fed up of spending money on my helmet to then have it hidden in a cupboard or torn by a traditional hook. I take pride in my bike and my helmet on the road and I wanted to bring that into my home,” says Marc Graells.

Unlike other racks, Halley features a smooth sphere that acts as support for the helmet. This eliminates the dangers of tears on the lining and also provides a larger surface to minimize pressure point damage. The brand takes inspiration from icons like Steve McQueen and Paul Newman. Which explains why the hanger has an elegant and timeless aesthetic. Featuring a black frame and a brushed stainless steel sphere, the product is gorgeous even when it’s not in use. Launched on Kickstarter, the helmet hanger has received a great response from customers who pledged almost five times over the initial goal. The campaign ends on December 22. Each backer also receives a free, custom designed motorcycle vector file to make a poster or to embellish a t-shirt. Photographs© Halley Accessories.
