Hautvillers Hollywood By Thomas Humery

A poetic photography book that explores the concept of inspiration in Los Angeles.

Made in a collaboration between Dom Pérignon and photographer Thomas Humery, the Hautvillers Hollywood art book offers a poetic and mysterious glimpse of Los Angeles. The book is part of an artistic curation project led by dancer, choreographer, and director Benjamin Millepied alongside his creative partner Dimitri Chamblas. The first book published by creative strategy studio B.Y.E, Hautvillers Hollywood features stunning photographs among its 120 pages.

Hautvillers Hollywood shows the mystical soul of Los Angeles while also capturing the ghostly presence of Dom Pérignon in the city of stars. Thomas Humery’s photos don’t aim to compare the two places. The glamorous LA seems a world apart from the pastoral Hautvillers village that gave the world Dom Pérignon champagne. Instead, the photographer creates a haunting series of images that encourage the viewer to write their own story. The photos explore the subtle, more spiritual and mystical links between the two drastically different yet undeniably linked places. Parallels between textures and colors as well as a duality between fiction and reality appear throughout the book.

Apart from the captivating images, Hautvillers Hollywood also features texts and notes from Thomas Humery. An an essay written by National Book Award-winning writer Joan Didion is also included. Available now on the B.Y.E website, this edition of the book features 71 original prints and comes with a poster. Photographs© Thomas Humery.
