Hi Tech Trays for the Modern Home

The most recent project to come out of Layer studio investigates the relationship between technology and the domestic space. Through a collaboration with Bitossi Ceramiche, the brand has created a series of modular, dual-purpose ceramic trays that seamlessly incorporate wireless charging and table-top storage. Described as “quiet technology,” the simple trays feature sectional dividers to keep track of small items like jewelry, coins, office supplies, etc. alongside a surface that offers subtle, wireless charging through induction. Thanks to a thoughtful use of material and color, these functional beauties read more as home décor than tech accessory; a sophisticated palette and softened geometric form blends into the background with ease. And the collection can be updated as charging technology advances because of its clever modularity, making this a timeless accessory for any setting.
