Himitsu Money Box

Himitsu is designed by Quentin de Coster for the new home collection launched by Vervloet, a Belgian company producing high-end and unique handcrafted brass and bronze items since 1905. The design studio has a passion for “shapes that are sober, logic and expressive; materials that are respected in their physical and tactile qualities; functions that are unexpected and ingenious”, and Himitsu exemplifies this beautifully. The simple yet striking shape is inspired by the polygonal accents found in some coin designs, and the silhouette is further enhanced by the metal material and gleaming finish. The name means “secret” in Japanese, and this money box is created as a classic secret box, requiring a unique accessory to open it. The owner will need a coin that will fit perfectly inside the slot on the lid, as this is the only way to unscrew the top of the box. This clever detail links the object and its function while also adding a playful accent to the design. Expertly handmade using quality materials and traditional craftsmanship, the money box is available in three colors: pink gold, yellow gold, and nickel plated brass.
