Launching at the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Etienne on March 12, 2015, this motorcycle is one of Yamaha’s latest ventures. The motorcycle is the largest piece in Yamaha’s Project AH A MAY, an experiment in realizing motorcycles envisioned by musical instrument designers and musical-makers by motorcycle builders. Designed by Kazuki Kashiwase, the √ Root motorbike references the square root mathematical function and, more concretely, the form of a horse. The mechanical steed features a dark brown wood and leather seat that extends over the headlight, eliminating the dials and connecting the rider to the scenery. Take a closer look at the innovative motorcycle in this video, published on Youtube.
