Here we have a delightful dessert created by Doshi Levien from London.  This piece of art is in the wondrous shape of our moon, craters and all.  It is an ice cream cake called Ice Moon for Haagen-Dazs. Similar in concept  to the Edible Flower ice cream cake by Kiki Van Eijk also made for Haagen-Dazs, this beauty is set to grab a lot of attention.
In the designers words, “The moon idea came from many different places and has elements of fantasy, adventure and imagination.”  Inside are delicious layers of cake crumbles, heavenly ice cream, and even toppings are laced through. The white moon has raspberry ice cream with layers of pistachio biscuit, macadamia nut ice cream and meringue. The orange moon has vanilla ice cream with layers of those yummy chocolate crumbles, nutty ice cream and gooey salted caramel. Event the creators can’t resist gobbling up this one, “we never had a design meeting before in which we ate the prototype.”

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
