Iceberg Bike Hanger, Spot Architects x Reinis Salins

For the urbanites who struggle to find a space to house their bikes, there is a solution that transforms storage into style. Industrial designer Reinis Salins in collaboration with Spot Architects incorporates an architectural look into the Iceberg Bike Hanger, which is a handmade wooden piece that frames the bike as an artful wall-hanging. Carved from solid oak, the angled trenches of the hanger support the bike’s top tube and lock the entire vehicle in place by use of the bike’s own center of mass. In addition to hitting the functional criterion, the facets of the hanger are cut in such a way that features the beautiful, raw grain of the wood alongside the darker brown of its finish.
