James X Sitka Studio The Anzick Chef Knife

A limited edition, beautifully designed knife created to bring the professional cooking experience outdoors.

In a match made in heaven, The James Brand and Sitka Studio, Sitka Gear’s own innovation incubator, have collaborated to create a chef’s knife specially for outdoor use. This is the first collab between the two companies. While The James Brand specializes in EDC, designing and making minimalist, premium quality knives and everyday carry gear, the kind you use for a lifetime, Sitka Gear uses high-end design and technology to make high-end gear and apparel for hunters. The James X Sitka Studio The Anzick is a modern, professional-grade chef’s knife created for outdoor culinary experiences. Produced in a limited edition run, this is one of the best gifts for camping lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

To make the knife, the companies spent two years researching the needs of chefs and hunters alike. The result? A perfected design that makes the limited edition Anzick one of a kind. “This project started with a desire to elevate a meaningful and fundamental human experience—cooking food outdoors,” said Brad Christian, Sitka Studio Brand and Creative Leader. “Sitka Gear and The James Brand have a mutual obsession with nailing the details of every design and the Anzick is a reflection of that shared passion,” adds Ryan Coulter, founder of The James Brand.

Skillfully crafted by hand and made to last.

Anzick is a veritable outdoor chef’s knife that can handle anything from a rack of venison to finely chopped herbs. Each knife is carefully handmade in the USA. Combining the sharp edge and the versatility of a classic kitchen chef’s knife with impressive toughness and durability, every Anzick knife is crafted from MagnaCut steel that offers the strength of high carbon steel as well as the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. A full tang construction offers extra stability and balance, giving the user maximum control. Additionally, the CNC-milled G10 handle boasts a subtly textured finish to enhance grip, even when cutting with wet hands.

Made without rivets, the knife is easier to clean and resistant to corrosion at the same time. Anzick boasts a food-safe DLC coating that not only improves durability and wear-resistance, but provides low-friction and anti-reflective properties. Finally, a Hyphalon sheath keeps the knife safe in storage or traveling. The sheath also easily snaps apart to make cleaning as easy as possible. Handmade and hand-sharpened, each knife is laser-engraved and individually numbered. You can find the limited edition Anzick knife on the brands’ websites, with shipping available worldwide at The James Brand. Images courtesy of The James Brand and Sitka Studio.
