The John Pawson / Tekla Bedroom Collection

A collection inspired by a 17th century farmstead.

British architect and designer John Pawson brings exceptional warmth to his minimalist designs, whether it’s a home or a piece of furniture. For his third collaboration with Danish textile brand Tekla, the celebrated designer looked to his countryside home in Oxfordshire, a 17th and 18th century restored farmstead and barn named Home Farm, for inspiration. The idea that bedrooms are sanctuaries and should provide a feeling of tranquility and calm also informed the design. Named John Pawson / Tekla, this range comprises a complete bedding collection as well as a low-platform bed frame.

Hints of Home Farm’s serene bedrooms and thoughtful architectural details and textures appear in the line’s minimal style. The bedding boasts a custom texture that gives the 100% BCI cotton textiles the feel of linen. At the same time, it creates soft shadows as the light caresses the material. Mitered corners also give a nod to the architectural source of inspiration. The sheets, duvet covers, bedspread, and pillow covers come in Chalk White and Shaded White hues. Made in Portugal from 100% BCI cotton, they have a 150 thread count fabric dyed with a special garment dye. While the duvet features a button closure and a double hem with mitered corners, the pillow cover features an envelope closure.

Crafted in Stockholm from FSC-certified elm wood with an oiled finish, the low-platform bed frame has a rich palette that contrasts the light colors of the bedding. A hinged headrest allows for comfortable bedtime reading. The frame also features brass brackets and can double as a daybed. Made to order, the bed frame comes with a darker, linseed oil finish or with lighter finishes, available upon request.
