Just Grow It! is a series of urban, naturalist sculpture by the Frenchman Christophe Guinet, also known as Mr. PLANT. In the collection, plants fill and cover Nike sneakers, taking over one of the most iconic images of consumerism. Flowers break through the fabric, soil and rock cake the trademark swoosh, and layers of bark reimagine a popular style as a tree. Artfully chaotic, the living sculptures are carefully matched to the color of each shoe so that the finished pieces achieve a sense of harmony at the same time that they contrast raw and processed materials.
