The Lemnos Cubist Cuckoo Clock

A creative table clock inspired by postmodern architecture.

Japanese brand Lemnos has been making creative, minimalist, and one-of-a-kind timepieces for decades. The company collaborates with the most talented Japanese and international designers to bring a new perspective to the passage of time. The Lemnos Cubist Cuckoo clock is no exception. Designed by Singapore-based designer Gabriel Tan, this quirky timepiece puts the classic cuckoo clock in a new light. The design draws inspiration from an unlikely, but inspired source: postmodern architecture.

The clock features two stacked volumes. The larger one contains the clock, while the smaller cube houses a small cuckoo. The user can easily rotate the smaller volume in different directions, if needed. Crafted from Japanese ash wood, the clock comes in two versions: Natural/White and Brown/ Natural. Both versions boast carved hour markers and elegant golden hands. Naturally, the clock suits a wide range of spaces, from side tables to a desk or a bookshelf. Finally, the two-step light sensor movement ensures that the cuckoo will remain silent at night.

While available from August 1, the new Cubist Cuckoo clock will also make a splash at the NYNOW 2019 Summer Market in NYC.
