Maisons 5.5mX5.5m by LVPH Architects

The next time you find yourself in Fribourg, Switzerland, think twice about booking that hotel. Maisons 5.5mX5.5m is a project that offers up five pavilions for rental and stay. These minimalistic wooden structures, designed by LVPH Architects, are shells of simple rectangular prisms that offer four floors of living space. The vertical tower of sorts includes a woodstove, bathroom, and kitchen along with rooms for work, play, and lounge. These forms are scattered throughout the rolling plains of a recently abandoned park, and the proceeds generated from the project are fed back into restoring the park to its former glory.
