Max Bill Chronoscope – 100 Years of Bauhaus Edition

A limited-edition watch that pays homage to Bauhaus with a thoughtful design.

2019 marks an important milestone in the world of design: 100 years since the opening of the Bauhaus German art school. Junghans celebrates the occasion with a stunning version of the Max Bill Chronoscope. Made in a limited-edition, the beloved timepiece boasts – for the first time ever – an 18-carat white gold case. Celebrating 100 years of Bauhaus, this watch features thoughtful details that pay homage to the influential school and movement.

For example, the white, highly-polished dial references the walls within the Bauhaus building, while the red date represents the iconic front door. Other Bauhaus-inspired details include a Bauhaus graphic on the caseback which also features a red accent. Thanks to a clear window, the user can admire the intricate mechanism of the self-winding movement. The limited-edition Max Bill Chronograph 100 Years of Bauhaus watch comes with a 40mm white gold case. A convex sapphire crystal with an anti-reflection coating covers both sides.

Inside the case, there’s a self-winding J880.2 movement with a power reserve of 48 hours. The chronoscope has stop seconds, 30-minute, and 12-hour counter functions. To ensure optimal readability, the cleanly designed dial also boasts hands with a SuperLuminova coating. Finally, a polished calf leather strap with a white gold buckle completes the design. If you want to get your hands on this highly collectible Max Bill Chronograph, keep in mind that Junghans plans to make only 100 pieces. Photographs© Junghans.
