Meier Road Barn Studio by SFOSL

A traveler looking for Meier Road Barn Studio would be startled indeed to find that the studio space hardly resembles the form of a typical barn at all. Instead, a larger building sporting an inverted gabled roof – two asymmetrical peaks at polar ends of the studio – stands on the plot of land to welcome visitors into the creative, artistic interior. Designed by SFOSL, the studio in Sebastopol, California is a quirky reincarnation of the century-old barn that was demolished during the rebuild project. In continuing to honor the traditional barn typology, the new studio has doors in the front and rear that expose the interior to nature’s finest, as well as frosted vertical glazing to contrast the patchwork strips of wood on the building’s façade. Nevertheless, the collections of old artworks, and other hidden treasures are the most mesmerizing, especially when accentuated by the ample space from the studio’s unique roof structure.
