Introducing Mezcal Delirio

Smooth and smoky, steeped in tradition.

Unlike its more popular cousin tequila, mezcal has a smoky and rich flavor. Made using age-old techniques that draw inspiration from ancestral methods, the Mezcal Delirio collection brings aromatic complexity to the traditional Mexican spirit. The company makes each bottle of mezcal from native agave plants which grow in Matatlán, Oaxaca, in Mexico. Safe to say, Delirio is a perfect choice for mezcal craft cocktails.

To make the artisanal mezcal, the brand roasts the agave hearts in an underground stone oven, using local copal resin and mesquite plants. Thus, the entire manufacturing process has deep roots in the local context and its traditions. Lasting three days, the smoking stage sets mezcal apart from the more neutral tequila, giving this smooth spirit a smokey aroma. After the smoking process, the mashed agave goes into open pine vats for fermentation. Delirio Mezcal also uses a traditional double or triple distillation process to ensure the mezcal’s purity and quality. Using small copper stills and wood as a heating source, the brand pays homage to authenticity.

The Delirio Mezcal collection includes four stunning versions of mezcal. Both Delirio Puro and Delirio Joven have a clear, immaculate spirit, but they differ in taste. Puro features a blend of earthy smoked and herbal flavors, while Joven delights with semi-smoked notes and soft fruit flavors. Delirio Reposado has a subtle pink color and smooth agave and smokey aromas, while Delirio Añejo goes through 12 months of fermentation in American white oak casks, offering fruity, slightly sweet notes. All of these spirits are great on their own or as part of mezcal craft drinks. They also come in gorgeous packaging that celebrates Art Deco. Photographs© Mezcal Delirio.
