Millennial Console Collection by Maximo Riera

Designed by Spanish artist Maximo Riera, the Millennial Console Collection features wood salvaged from fallen olive trees. Riera sourced wood from olive oil country, selecting castoffs that had been dead for several years. Restoring the wood proved a labor-intensive process, as Riera had to remove sap, dry out the timber for a year, strip the bark, and then treat and polish the exposed woodgrain. The resulting pieces are so unique, however, that the project was worth the effort. Each Millennial Console stands on custom-made legs, here shown as geometric tangles of neon metal.
