This minimalist design by Studio Bas Van Der Veer is a candlestick made entirely of concrete. The tabletop decor is smooth and has a pleasant weight, just like a metal candlestick. Yet, the experimental material is matte and light gray by nature. Cast in a mold of 3D-printed silicone, the conceptual design balances new with old: concrete with candlestick and CAD technology with molded sculpture. The resulting pieces are lovely, functional, and refreshingly traditional.
