Holiday House on the Rigi Scheidegg

This holiday house, designed by AFGH Architects, appears to float on the side of the mountain allowing it a gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside. Every room in the house has at least one window to take in the scenery; the most notable of which being the large picture windows in the main living space which frame the landscape while adding to the modern feel of the home. Much of the inspiration for the home came from the concept of a ship, which brings us the wooden deck off the side of the house —which also serves to frame the entrance— and the chimney which rises like a mast through the house.
