Minitremu, Modular Wooden Toys

How do we teach our children their stories? The traditions they can identify with, or family roots to secure themselves in full of precious heirlooms and pad locked recipes. There are history lessons to be taught, legends to pass on, lullabies we put them to sleep to, the ones our mother’s mother’s and father’s father’s father’s recall. But still, it is a struggle to keep them alive, all these years through the years, the changes in technology, forward motion of ideology.
In an array of rainbows, natural wooden toys bridge the gap for those associated with the concept Minitremu. It is a term creatively taken from “monotremes” or those as in the platypus category both primitive and paradoxical since having characteristics of mammals, oviparous, and reptiles. It is a strong reflection on their confused feelings with heritage appendages touching Romanian and mix of Balkan, Slavonic, and Latin. Here, basic toy models help the very young identify with artists of their kind as they encounter monumental works in the Table of Silence and Endless Column by Constantin Brâncusi.
