Moebe’s Modular Shelving System

An ingenious shelving system with a modular design.

Designed and made by Danish brand Moebe, the Shelving System provides a clever solution to create a custom storage unit for any space. The design combines a modular build with a timeless aesthetic and a creative connecting system that put a focus on simplicity. Instead of metal hardware, the Moebe Shelving System has solid oak wedges that hold the shelves together. Since they push the panels from below, these joints become more stable as extra weight pushes them downward. Steel tubes support the entire unit and they also stack; as they come in two heights they provide a convenient way to build shelving at different levels.

Flexible and easy to adapt to different needs as well as to different spaces, the shelving unit allows the user to mix and match elements and create various combinations that vary in width or height. The storage system can also handle corners thanks to the flexibility of the wedge connecting system. Made from quality materials, the Moebe Shelving System features powder-coated steel legs and solid oak wedges. The MDF core shelves have a natural oiled or a black-stained oak finish. An all-white version of the design is also available and features a smooth matte finish. The unit works well with some of Moebe’s other designs: the Clothes Bar, Desk, and Cabinet. Naturally, this opens up even more customization possibilities. Photographs© Moebe.
