The 1979 Moto Guzzi Lemans Apollonia is a recent custom motorbike by the Brooklyn-based workshop Moto Borgotaro. Like all of Moto Borgotario’s Moto Guzzi builds, the motorcycle is named after Apollonia from the Sicilian Sequence of The Godfather, played by the Italian actress Simonetta Stefanelli. The updated bike retains its vintage look but features updated mechanics and finishes. Especially note-worthy, the engine and transmission were repeatedly pressure-washed, sand-blasted, cleaned with soap and water, air-dried, and gas-cleaned. This extensive process seasons the steel wool and oil finish so that it will last. Photography by Ryan Handt.
