Furniture For Plants By Pentagon Design

A modular design for both indoor and outdoor use.

Guided by the concept of “rational passion” and holistic design, leading Nordic studio Pentagon Design creates versatile products that blend a minimalist aesthetic, creativity, and functional features. The firm’s latest project is no exception. Made for Kekkilä, this range of furniture for plants features a modular design as well as materials suitable for indoor and outdoor areas. As a result, the multi-functional products provide endless possibilities and adapt to different living spaces with ease. To create the series, Kekkilä researched the needs and preferences of Swedish and Finnish people when it comes to the use of their gardens, balconies, and terraces. Pentagon Design used the findings to develop a multi-use and affordable furniture series.

The products have a simple, Scandinavian-style design that looks good anywhere. Suitable for all areas, from living rooms to balconies, the collection features a range of premium, weather-resistant materials. These include black steel as well as cork and concrete. Created as modular pieces, the products allow the user to create custom systems in different configurations.

Lightweight and versatile, Green Box is perfect for growing plants but it also doubles as storage when needed. Compatible with both the box and the Green Ladder, Green Light is an ambient light that attaches itself to various products from the range. Ideal to showcase pots and plants, Green Shelf has a compact footprint and features detachable shelves. Finally, the Trellis Line and Trellis Wave provide support to climbing plants. The former works as a stand-alone product or alongside the box, while the latter suits plants that require extra height. Whether used indoors or outdoors, the furniture for plants collection features plastic or rubber feet to protect flooring against scratches. Photographs© Kekkilä.
