The Signet Trestle By Daniel Schofield

A cleverly simple design.

With a focus on an understated aesthetic, quality materials, and simple forms, UK-based designer Daniel Schofield designs minimalist furniture, lighting, and accessories for modern interiors. Following the same pattern, the Signet trestle also adds functionality to the list. The ingenious design provides a perfect solution not only for compact living spaces, but also for urban nomadic lifestyles. Split into two halves, the trestle comes together as one via aluminum rings. These metallic elements hold the wooden elements together and lock them into place. The Signet trestle is lightweight as well as strong, providing optimal support for tabletops or glass panels.

When not in use, the disassembled elements occupy minimal space in storage, making transportation easy at the same time. The user can quickly reconfigure a room or move the trestle to another location. Completed with a cork rubber finish, the aluminum rings offer perfect grip, regardless of the surface they support. Signet comes in two versions: one features natural wood with a light color, while the other comes with a striking black finish. Photographs© Oskar Proctor.
