Small House in Ritto, Japan by Alts Design Office

The Ritto House by Alts Design Office is a small home built in the Japanese city of the same name. Behind the unassuming exterior is a light-filled space with sliding doors fluidly dividing the private rooms and the living area. Light spills from above and pours in from a long wall of windows, reflecting off the natural wooden floors and white walls to illuminate the entire space. Matching the interior’s minimalist sensibilities, much of the decor is also made of wood or mirrors natural forms. Throughout the house, strong lines of wood grain soothe and guide the eye.
