Designed and developed this past year by Dan Vakhrameyev, the SO8 lamp is a part of SUSTAINABLE ORIGINS, the newest collection from Ukraine’s FILD. All of the products are based on an overarching principle of “accurate and conceivable design,” which is evident in the use of simple forms and materials. While the lamp’s minimalist design makes it accessible to the consumer, there is an eccentricity to Vakhrameyev’s exploration of form and function that makes SO8 incredibly engaging. The gentle embrace of the aluminum sheet over a raw wooden light enclosure enhances the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by this modern hanging light. Lit with cost-effective and energy-efficient LEDs, the design of this lamp is truly current (no pun intended) in every sense.
