Dating back to the 1980s, the term “Dutch design” became increasingly more widely used in the 1990s when a group of designers, design studios, architects, and brands started to gain international recognition. Among them, Droog, Marcel Wanders (who went on to also co-found Moooi), Wieki Somers, fashion designers Viktor & Rolf, or architect Rem Koolhaas.
