Studiolav’s Terrazzo Collection

An enamelware line that draws inspiration from terrazzo patterns.

Designed by London-based Studiolav for kitchenware brand Metalac, the Terrazzo collection re-imagines ubiquitous items from a new perspective. Studiolav’s founders Loukas Angelou and Vasso Asfi love to create story-rich products and interiors that draw inspiration from tradition and heritage as well as from daily living. As a result, the studio’s projects often create an emotional link between users, objects, and living spaces. The Terrazzo line showcases the studio’s approach to design perfectly. The bold and fresh designs reference terrazzo patterns in a creative way. Irregular shapes of different colors and sizes remind of pieces of quartz, marble, or glass. The white enamel surface enhances the visual effect further.

While the terrazzo-like design covers the top of the products from the collection, the lower section features matching dark blue or cream colors. This creative detail makes the items look like they have been dipped into paint. The Terrazzo line includes mugs, trays, bowls, and teapots, all available in two color versions. Wood lids for the mugs and wood lid handles on the teapots complete the designs. Distinctive and contemporary, the collection brightens living spaces while providing a practical and elegant way to enjoy breakfast every morning. Photographs© Studiolav.
